No Act of Kindness is Ever Wasted – True Story
How often do you meet someone who shows what humanity is and proves it? How often do you come across someone who cares for the fellow humans? Act of kindness is something that we can’t find very often.
It was one such day when a man named Akhilesh Kumar from Malappuram, Kerala went to a small hotel in Malappuram for dinner after a day’s exhausting work. He found himself a place to sit and as he placed the order, he saw a young pair of eyes which were darting from table to table. The owner of the young pair of eyes was a little rag-picker who had a sack in his hand. Nobody paid attention to that little kid who was wistfully looking at the delicacies served at various tables in the restaurant.
But the hero of our story was not ready to eat his food when a hungry kid was peeping inside the restaurant where he is in, so he gestured for the young boy to come in and he did, but he was not alone he was accompanied by his sister who herself was a rag-picker too. Akhilesh asked the young poor and hungry kids, what they wanted to eat, they said nothing, probably because they were filled with excitement. The boy pointed at Akhilesh’s plate, so he ordered the same dish for the two kids.
The kid’s ate the food which they would have dreamed for quite a long time, may be they would have dreamed for it their whole life. Once they are done they washed their hands and left. Akhilesh nor the kids didn’t speak to each other nor smiled at each other during the whole time. But Akhilesh hadn’t touched his food till the kid’s finished eating. He probably would have felt full by his little act of kindness.
Finally, he asked for the bill, it was then the story took a turn. Akhilesh met with a heart-warming gesture in the form of the bill. The bill had no amount, but a message for him:
“We don’t have a machine that can bill humanity. May good things happen to you.”
