Appeal To The Public To Boycott TRP-driven News Channels. #DecemberMediaBoycott

We urge the Indian Public To Boycott TRP-driven News Channels for December ’15. In recent times, Indian news channels have taken sensationalism to new heights by blowing petty issues way out of proportion and creating a huge fuss about small matters. They have been targeting sensitive issues and instigating the public for no rhyme or reason, inciting communities and giving unnecessary attention to only insignificant people and groups, especially those who are making stupid, instigating communal comments.

This is all happening for one purpose – higher TRP ratings. Taking advantage of people’s sensitivities and sparking unnecessary enmities between people belonging to the same country – our beloved motherland India,  these corporations are looking to benefit only monetarily, neglecting the fact that they are causing widespread chaos and confusion all across the country.

In protest, there is an online campaign with the aim of getting the Public To Boycott TRP-driven News Channels with the apt hashtag #DecemberMediaBoycott, which aims at teaching these news channels a lesson. This photograph / banner is doing the rounds on Facebook and Twitter, urging the country’s public to boycott all Indian News Channels for the month of December’2015 and cause a drop in the channels’ TRP ratings. The circulation of the photo and the tag is gaining momentum, and will hopefully bring an end to the way news channels are taking advantage of the public’s sensitivities.

Share this in all your groups in support of the movement, and we urge you all to join in as well. #DecemberMediaBoycott
