Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited – Or BSNL, the State-run telecommunications provider, has big expansion plans, and has made that fact clear by taking a few ambitious steps. Under a new scheme, they have slashed call rates by 80% for new customers.

To avail of these call rates, one must purchase a plan voucher for either Rs. 36 (for per second plan) or Rs. 37 (for per minute plan). Those who go for the Rs 37 scheme will be charged 10 p/minute for calls, both local and STD, within BSNL, and 30 paisa per minute for calling other networks. Similarly, for the Rs. 36 plan, customers will be charged 1 paisa for every 3 seconds of local and STD calls made within the BSNL network, and 2 paisa for 3 seconds for other networks.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s new expansion scheme aims to connect the entirety of India.

As Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava told PTI, “BSNL has revamped its infrastructure now. We have decided to cut mobile call rates by up to 80 per cent for new customer so that they get experience of our revamped services.”

Aegis BPO, which provides customer care services to other private telecom companies as well, will be joining hands with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited as well. The company is also providing mobile portability services.
