Delhi Police Detains Delhi CM Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was on Wednesday detained outside Lady Hardinge hospital in central Delhi, by Delhi police for almost 4 hours, as Kejriwal tried to meet the kin of ex-serviceman who allegedly committed suicide over the OROP issue. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was also taken into custody twice, for trying to meet with the deceased veteran’s family. And Deputy chief minister Sisodia was detained for nearly 10 hours in the Parliament Street Police Station on the same day. Says an report form The Times Of India.

According to some police sources, Kejriwal who was detained from Lady Hardinge Hospital around 7.45 PM was brought to the RK Puram police station in south District. “The police allowed us to leave but the chief minister expressed his desire to meet the family of the deceased ex-serviceman. He also told the pilot of the police patrol that he was proceeding to the Connaught Place Police Station, but he was again detained,” a Kejriwal aide said.

Police justified their actions, saying that they will not allow anyone to disturb law and order in the city. On the other hand The political leaders accused the Modi government of being responsible for the death of of ex-serviceman, Ram Kishan Grewal. Grewal’s body was sent to his home town Bhiwani in Haryana after the postmortem.
