Dhanush Is Our Son, Claims An Elderly Couple
Famous kollywood actor Dhanush (Tamil film superstar Rajnikanth’s son-in-law) has been summoned to appear at Melur’s Judicial Magistrate Court, by Judicial Magistrate R. Selvakumar on January 12 following a petition filed questioning his parentage. An elderly couple, Kathiresan and Meenakshi, from Melur, Tamil Nadu, have filed a petition in Melur’s Judicial Magistrate Court claiming that they were his parents and he refused to provide them maintenance. Kathiresan and Meenakshi have also produced Dhanush’s birth certificate and they have also included with the petition some childhood photographs of the actor, who they claim is their son.
R. Katharesan (60) and K .Meenakshi (55) claimed that Dhanush was their elder son, they also added that he was born at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai on November 7, 1985. They further added in their petition that Dhanush’s real name was Kalaichelvan, and he completed his X standard in Government boys school (R C Higher Secondary School) in Melur. They were quoted by Free Press Journal as saying, “We named him Kalaichelvan and enrolled him in a school in Melur. When he completed class X, we got him admitted in class XI in a school in Sivaganga district. But he dropped out and moved to Chennai and changed his name to Dhanush K Raja and entered the world of cinema.”
Kasthuri Raja, a well known producer in Kollywood is the father of #Dhanush and it was he who introduced Dhanush in to the world of cinema.
The petitioner Kathiresan is a retired TNSTC conductor and he claims that he could not manage the family’s medical and other expenses and is now asking for a monthly maintenance amount of Rs 65,000 from the actor.
Melur’s Judicial Magistrate Court has directed the actor to appear before it on January 12.
