Dhoni, Virat or Ranbir, Abhishek! Who Wins it?
Ever thought of how nail biting can a match be between the Cricketers and the Bollywood Stars? Yes, at June 4th Virat Kohli led All Hearts Football Club came in a faceoff with Ranbir Kapoor’s All Stars Football Club. As the commentators say “Everywhere he goes, it’s his Home Ground!!!!” Yes, and the stadium cheered for”Dhoni! Dhoni!” yet again as they would have wanted to see more of him!
Well, that’s not the hypothetical question as the Title Celebrity Classico 2016 was only to be played for Charity. The last times the two teams played against each other it was Dhoni who lead the All hearts and the All Stars team led by Abhishek Bachchan. However, the match ended with Dhoni winning 4-3. However, this time, the match got even more thrilling as the Bollywood Stars were 2-1 up by the half-time.
Abhishek Bachchan’s charity playing for Humanity as well as Virat’s charity, the Virat Kohli Foundation was the primary cause for the match. However, this had brought up smiles to the faces of many in the lights of the people getting the best out of the celebrities.
For the record, the match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Yuvraj Singh and KL Rahul scoring for Kohli’s team. Director Shoojit Sircar and Ranbir Kapoor’s trainer, Antonio Pecora scored for AB’s men.
But as Abhishek Bachchan said at the end, irrespective of the draw, the noble cause and the people for whom the match was held, emerged as winners. (A bit of Ravi Shastri-ism about that, but he’s right, and we are glad the celebrities are doing their bit for charity!)
But as just what Abhishek would have been disappointed, he openly stated that “Well, it was a draw, and we’re very happy because the last time we played, we lost by one goal. I’m very proud of Ranbir and the entire team; they played with all their heart.”
Though a lot of people did felt before the start of the match that this Celebrity Classico will be won by the Cricketer, the Bollywood men gave a tough challenge indeed.
A draw is indeed as good as a win, and this is just what the Bollywood people were expecting. However, the primary motive for the cause of the match had indeed bought up a pleasant smile to everyone’s face who were participating in the match. As they speak up, tall 22 men have done this for a notable win and indeed to raise awareness and funds for drought victims. It never mattered to them who won and which team lost. At the end of the day, the people whom they played for emerged out to be the winners.
Here’s the list of players involved in the match.

It looks like the cricketers had some good fun, seeing Shikhar Dhawan’s Facebook post.
And Virat Kohli started away the celebration on the entire match they had played. A ThankYou message from him proved that how eager they all were to cheer up the people as well as making it better!
