Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road: A New Road in Delhi!!
APJ Abdul Kalam is a name not only inscribed in the Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan or Padma Vibhushan but also in the hearts of the citizens of India. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was a man known for his achievements and not for controversies. He was loved by all and hated by none.
On 27 July, 2015 the sudden death of Dr. Kalam caused by a cardiac arrest left everyone in shock. Accompanied by the ocean of tears was an undercurrent of desire to make the deserving Dr. Kalam unforgettable. Those reading this post must have been fortunate enough to be inspired by the great man during his lifetime, but to ensure his existence in the heart of the future generations Indians are demanding changes.

BJP national secretary Mahesh Girri had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Aurangzeb Road in central Delhi be renamed after Kalam as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road. “In my opinion, this will be a great way of preserving his memories and legacy forever,” the East Delhi MP had said after submitting a proposal in this regard to Modi.
Aurangzeb road is one of the roads in New Delhi’s Lutyen’s Bunglow Zone in India. It lies in the north-east end, stretching from the Taj Mansingh Hotel at the round about of Mansingh Road, Shahjahan Road, Humayun Road, Prithviraj Roadand a road to Khan Market in the north-east. At the south-west end it stretches up to the crossing at Kamal Atatürk road and Safdarjung Road joint. People who own a residence in Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road include several Indian billionaires like ArcelorMittal’s L N Mittal, K.P.Singh of DLF and Max Healthcare’s Analjit Singh. The good news is that the Cheif Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejrival has decided that the Aurangzeb road situated in New Delhi will be renamed as the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road road to honour the former president.
“Congrats. NDMC jst now decided to rename Aurangzeb Road to APJ Abdul Kalam Road,” He tweeted on Friday.
