Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 : Definitely a rare instance when the soundtrack of a superhero movie outdoes all its other aspects. The Guardians, starting off with a successful first part, return to save the universe once again but it’s the music for which this sequel will be remembered the most.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Movie Review-FantoosyAfter establishing the key characters in the prequel, Vol 2 delves in to the mystery of Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) parentage. Fresh characters are introduced here like a celestial being called Ego (Kurt Russell) and a space mercenary (Sylvester Stallone in a delightful cameo) who is at loggerheads with Yondu (Michael Rooker getting a meatier role this time).

With pulsating action sequences boosted by jaw dropping CGI/ VFX, director James Gunn gets the humour quotient right as well mainly in form of the kleptomaniac raccoon (Rocket voiced brilliantly by Bradley Cooper) and baby groot (Vin Diesel as voice over) who can only speak three words. Kids will love these two, I betcha!!

Adequately star-studded and visually enthralling in places, Guardians of the Galaxy certainly makes it to the ‘see’ level. Best enjoyed in IMAX 3D!!
