India’s First Semi-High Speed Train “Gatimaan Express” launched

Good news for every Indians. Indian Railway has introduced their fastest train named “Gatimaan Express. The train is set to start from today i.e. 5th April 2016 and will run between Hazrat Nizammuddin station and Agra Cantt. Station.

The train was flagged off by “Shri Suresh Prabhu”, the central railway minister this morning. Many other dignitaries were also present during the launch. The launch of this train is marked as the beginning of new era in Indian railways with more high speed trains. The central government has also emphasized to increase the passenger and goods train speed in their recent budget announcements.

Gatimaan Express can run with the highest speed of 160km per hour. The onboard catering facility is organised by Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a railway PSU. It will be first time when Train Hostesses will be introduced in the onboard train. The train has improved catering services with multiple cuisine choices for onboard passengers. IRCTC has tied up with an agency namely to provide atmost excellent entertainment services, where passengers can view various entertainment videos on their smartphones, laptops and tablets even without internet connection through WiFi. Here are few more facilities which has been availed for the first time in any Indian Train.

The train carries the numbers 12050/12049 and is scheduled to run 6 days a week except Friday.  The train’s regular timings will be as following :

12049 : AgraCantt (17:50 PM) – H.Nizamuddin (19:30 PM)
12050 : H. Nizamuddin (8:10 AM)-Agra Cantt ( 09:50 AM)

Gatimaan Express has got two executive AC chair Car & eight AC Chair Car coaches. The fare for AC Chair Car is Rs.750/- whereas it is Rs.1500/- for Executive AC Chair Car. No concessions are admissible in this train. The tickets booking has already been started since 2nd April 2016. We wish the passengers an awesome travel experience.
