Pakistan Bans MS Dhoni: The Untold Story

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story directed by Neeraj Pandey which is said to be relaesed on September 30, 2016 won’t be screened in Pakistan. Yes, Pakistan has banned Dhoni biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. Pakistani distributors have decided not to release this movie in their country, as a fallout of MNS banning Pakistani artistes in India. This ban by Pakistani distributors is said to affect the box office of MS Dhoni biopic, as #Pakistan is the third highest overseas market for Bollywood.

The Uri attack led to MNS threatening the #Pakistani artistes Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and others to leave the country within 48 hours. This threat towards the Pakistani artistes could be the reason why the movie won’t be screened in Pakistan. As per the reports, IMGC Global Entertainment, a Pakistan-based distribution company, has backed out of releasing the film in #Pakistan. And as per the report, IMGC’s chairman Ahmed Rashid, said, “Amid current tension between the two countries, we have decided not to release the film.”.

A petition was filed by lawyer Azhar Saddique at the Lahore High Court on this September 23 requesting to ban all Indian films until the Kashmir issue is resolved. In the petition by Azhar Saddique(lawyer) has mentioned that “showing Bollywood movies in #Pakistan will “hurt sentiments of the people in Pakistan and Kashmir”. Reports The Indian Express.
