Reliance Jio Claims It Crossed 16 Million Subscribers In First Month

Reliance Jio Infocomm, India’s newest telecom operator and Reliance’s latest venture on Sunday claimed that it has created “a world record” by crossing the 16 million subscriber mark in its first month of operations in September (in 26 days). Reliance Jio 4G is now open to most smartphone brands that the SIMs were not compatible with during the Preview Offer. Reports Indian Express.

Customers can buy and activate Jio SIM based on a paper-less Aadhaar card SIM activation method from over 3,100 towns and cities in India. And as an welcome offer Reliance Jio is allowing it’s customers to enjoy up to 4GB free 4G data per day until December 31, including free voice calling and Jio has also promised no roaming charges forever for their customers.

JioMusic, MyJio, JioChat, JioMoney are few premium apps by Jio that Jio users could have free access to until December 31.

Currently, Airtel has over 257 million users, followed by Vodafone with 200 million and Idea with 177 million. Will Jio come at top?
