Remo Fernandes Takes Portuguese Nationality After Police Accusation!
Remo Fernandes, The 62-year-old playback singer who sang legendary hit songs like Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha and Ek Ho Gaye Hum Aur Tum, has surrendered his Indian citizenship and is now a Portuguese National.
This news comes shortly after Remo was been accused of threatening a minor girl who was hit by his son Jonah’s car. “We have confirmed that Remo has already surrendered his Indian passport and taken Portuguese nationality due to which we will have to issue him summons through the embassy,” Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi said to PTI. The police have reportedly submitted the summons to the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO), from where it will be forwarded to the embassy.
According to police, the incident occurred on December 2 when the girl was walking towards Old Goa, to complete her vow to St. Francis Xavier. She is currently undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital.
Jonah was reportedly booked for rash driving.
Remo and Jonah failed to appear before the Agassaim Police Station in response to first summons issues earlier, because of his recent Europe tour. They have been issued another summons, and must appear before the Investigating Officer on 23rd December (10 a.m. for Jonah and 4 p.m. for Remo).
