Teacher Aged 27 Years Creating Wonders with his Innovative Teaching Strategy

A 27 year old school teacher in zilla parishad school created an extraordinary learning space, a digital shala, which is equipped with tablets and computers instead of school books through his innovative teaching strategy. Actually child centered learning aims at the all round development of children. This helps to improve the creativity of a student. This technique is practiced among the children of poor farmers and workers. Surely this will enhance the concept of activity oriented child centered learning. The teacher behind this special teaching method is Sandip Gund, and his teaching methods have inspired over 40 schools in Thane district. While he was working as a primary school teacher in Pashtepada, his creative thinking made him  to develop this strategy. Students usually do not attend the classes due to poor financial conditions. Actually the teacher  thought of returning to his native place because of the negative impact he got from students.
A Teacher is Creating Wonders with his Innovative Teaching Strategy
Without giving up, Sandip started exploring ways of making school attractive to the children and he tried to teach students in an interesting way. Even though he had no previous knowledge related to computer technology he visited a nearby cyber cafe and developed a passion towards the use of solar panels, projectors, and tablets. In this competitive world one should be technology oriented to compete with others. So Sandip decided to implement that model of teaching which enables child focused learning where teachers act as mentors and scaffolders.
Research oriented studies helped him to implement ‘Gund’ model of teaching. Now, students have the access to technology oriented learning without notebooks and text books. They are using solar tablet and a digital pen as resource material-sand are viewing the curriculum contents in animated form.
Next, Sandip bought  a tablet PC and projector using money from his own and the money donated by other teachers and villagers. They received an award from the state’s Council of Educational Research and Training. The money is utilized to buy a touch screen. This creates a happy learning environment for students. All students have a personal tablet now which are connected to projectors. Students are assessed by using flash transfer, a wireless data transfer technology.
Thanks to Sandip’s model, now the strength of  zilla parishad school has increased. This also improved the quality of education. Practical skills of students are enhanced a lot and their thinking skills will also improve. Students are able to get through any tough competitive exams.
The success of the ‘Gund model’ had a deep impact on the families of nearby villages too. They are donating funds for the implementation of  this model in their schools too.
Many schools situated in rural areas in 19 districts in Maharashtra are going to implement this digital school. Surely this digital school will open a new page in history of education. As teachers play an important role in creating future citizens they have to adapt these type of teaching methods in schools. Kudos to the young teacher for his innovative teaching techniques!!
