The next generation of Hollywood Talents are making quite an impact on the big screen, and getting noticed for all the right reasons. Take a look at this list, and keep a lookout for these faces in Hollywood blockbusters in the coming years – that is, if you haven’t already seen them!
The 34-year-old shot to stardom with his starring role in USA Networks’ Mr. Robot, even though he had already worked in The Master, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and HBO’s The Pacific, directed by Malek’s idol, Tom Hanks. He is currently also working on an indie project, Buster’s Mal Heart. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Malek is choosing his roles wisely, instead of going for every role that comes his way. Seems like he knows what he’s worth!
After working as a cook and an electrician for a living, the New Orleans man did a couple of small roles (Contraband, Broken City) before being chosen through a nation-wide hunt to play N.W.A rapper Eazy-E in Universal’s Straight Outta Compton, soon after which he bagged a role in Kong : Skull Island, which is currently in the shooting stage. He is also working on Keanu, a comedy, as well as Vincent-N-Roxxy, a crime drama. We hope he does as much justice to his upcoming characters as he did in Straight Outta Compton!
At the tender age of 19, John Boyega starred in Attack the Block, the sci-fi film directed by Joe Cornish. 4 years, a TV mini-series (Fox’s 24: Live Another Day) and a couple of supporting roles later, the 23-year old finds himself in the starring role for the internationally-awaited 7th episode of the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Boyega has said that he doesn’t really know what to expect once the film releases, but I’m sure he has his fingers crossed, just like all Star Wars fans from across the globe!
Daisy Ridley has been through more downs than ups in her short career, being asked not to come back after just one week of working with a small workshop; and then having her role in E4’s Youngers cut down to one day of filming. But miraculously, she kept getting called back for auditions for Star Wars : The Force Awakens and managed to click in the final audition, landing her a starring role in the cult saga – for future episodes VIII and IX as well! We hope things continue to work well for her, and that her unlucky streak has finally ended!
Known by many as Barry Allen in The CW’s superhero TV series The Flash, Grant Gustin has made his mark by winning a Saturn Award for ‘Breakthrough Performance’ and a Teen Choice Award for ‘Choice TV: Breakout Star’ for his role as the fastest man alive. Having been a broadway performer initially, Gustin appeared in a few small TV roles as well as a couple of independent films, before it was announced that he would play Barry Allen in the second season of Arrow, which would lead to a series based on The Flash. The first season was a resounding success, with Gustin receiving special mention for his performance as the speedster, prompting the network to renew the show for a second season in January 2015. Let’s hope this season is even better!
