Will The Kapil Sharma Show Go Off Air Again? Recent Protests Hurled on Kapil’s Comedy Format
It seems the fortune lines of Kapil Sharma are not going straight enough. After the popular comedian had to withdraw his colossal TRP gainer show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” from the Colors Channel, the team decided to get aired on Sony Television. With a completely new format, it is almost going to be a month that the show has restarted. However things are not going smooth for this veteran comedian. While Kapil and team had just recovered from the recent loss, it is now time for another combat to overcome.
And you won’t believe the source of attack. It’s right from the home-town of Kapil- Amritsar, the Golden City.
Kapil’s show has been highly criticised by the nurses of the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar. The way Kapil tries to uphold the image of the nurses in the new format of his show could not be accepted by the nurse community. According to them nurses are related to a noble profession while Comedy Nights with Kapil tries to portray them in a completely vulgar shade.
While the former format of the show had no scope for a nurse’s role, the running script has two nurses. One of them is played by the former Palak aka Kiku Sharda while the other is the Big Boss 7 contestant Rochelle Rao. Rochelle is depicted in a sexy avatar while Kiku as usual becomes the victim of Kapil’s ridicule in The Kapil Sharma Show.
A complaint was filed against the comedian at the Majitha Police Station. Moreover many of the nurses also had personal outbursts against the established comedian. A nursing student, named Mandeep said that Kapil Sharma had no right to make such objectification of the noble profession. Sunita Thakur, another nurse from the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital says that the show has riducled the pure relationship which exists between a nurse and the physician. Moreover Rochelle Rao’s exposing clothes added fuel to the fire of outrage.
Harjeet Nanda and Sukhwinder Sohi, members of the protesting nurse groups, also had similar views to share. Moreover they are further amazed at how an educated man like Navjot Singh Sidhu could be supportive of such baseless vulgar humour? Raj Bedi who stands out to be Punjab Nursing Association’s general secretary also communicates his agitation against Sidhu. According to him, he keeps on engaging himself in the baseless humours cracked against doctors and nurses. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the wife of the former cricketer is also a doctor and it is indeed amazing to encourage these sorts of jokes as communicated by Raj Bedi.
While the uproars are in the swing, let’s see what Lady Luck has in store for the Kapil Sharma Show.
